Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player won his first trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult season, managing just one win at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over challenger Moutet.

It is his maiden trophy following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one various competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters at once, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.

The player's defensive strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had led some to doubt if his ability to perform at the highest level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an better serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the concluding five points to go ahead.

The pair swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden professional championship, took control to push for a decider.

The opponent defended 4 early opportunities in a tight third set before the Russian broke to that score to serve for the match.

Fittingly, he earned the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
